COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR, USA (RET)

Command Sergeant Major Camba enlisted into the US Army in May 1997 and attended Basic Training and AIT at Fort McClellan, Alabama. His assignments include Gunner/Driver/Team Leader 164th MP CO, Fort  Richardson, Alaska; Military Police Investigator (MPI) and Special Reaction Team (SRT) NCOIC 164th MP CO, Fort Richardson, Alaska, MPI and Patrol and Explosive Detector Dog Handler, 91st MP Detachment, Fort Polk, LA (Deployed to Afghanistan and Uzbekistan); Squad Leader/Platoon Sergeant, 28th Military Police Detachment, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; FTX Committee Chief; A CO Fort Leonard Wood, MO; BN Operation Sergeant, HHD 701st MP BN, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Platoon Sergeant/Operation Sergeant, 164th MP Company, Fort Richardson, Alaska(Deployed to Afghanistan); Operations Sergeant 984th MP Company, Fort Carson, CO; Operations Sergeant/First Sergeant 110th MP CO, Fort Carson, CO; Command Sergeant Major SPT BN, 196th Infantry BDE, Fort Shafter, HI; USASMA Student Class 68, Fort Bliss TX; Operations Sergeant Major, 8th MP Brigade, Schofield Barracks, HI and culminating his career as the Command Sergeant Major of the 759th Military Police Battalion, 89th MP Brigade.                                

Command Sergeant Major Camba’s military education and training includes: Pre-Command Course, Master Resiliency Course; Anti-Terrorism Officer Basic Course; Small Unmanned Aerial (RAVEN) Program; Master Fitness Trainer Course, Asymmetric Warfare Adaptive Leader Program, Law Enforcement Senior Leaders Course, Anti-Terrorism Instructor Qualification Course, Company Intelligence Support Team Course, Combatives Level 1, Army Basic Instructor Course, Military Working Dog Course, Kennel Master Course, Basic Military Mountaineering Course, Cold Weather Leadership Course, Child Abuse Prevention and Investigations Course, Domestic Violence Intervention Course, Combat Lifesaver Course, Special Reaction Team Course, Military Police Investigators Course, Airborne Course, Air Assault Course, Battle Staff, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course,  Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Primary Leadership Development Course and the United States Army Sergeants Major Course, Class 68.

Command Sergeant Major Camba’s awards and decorations Include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 Silver OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), Navy Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (6), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 CS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 4), Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and the Combat Action Badge. Command Sergeant Major Camba is a member of the Military Police Regiment Association and awarded the Military Police Corps Order of the Marechaussee (Bronze).

Command Sergeant Major Camba holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Excelsior College and one class away from his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College.

He and his wife, Tiffany have been married since October 1997 and reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has two children, Chandler 21 and Colton 14.

With over 25 years of military service, James still had a passion to support his fellow service members.  He is a liaison for the Aligned Education Foundation (AEF), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

The AEF is a 501(c)(3) service organization run by a group of military veterans who remain dedicated to the care and mentorship of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coastguardsmen, and Guardians.  I may be retired, but my passion to serve remains.
